SmartStudyAI-Powered Learning Platform
An evidence-based, AI-powered learning platform built by Team Hackademics of STI College Ortigas-Cainta for AppCon 2024. SmartStudy helps students prepare for exams and retain knowledge through adaptive flashcards, AI-generated practice exams, and actionable study strategies. The project placed in the Top 20 out of 178 teams nationwide in a national hackathon focused on AI- and IoT-driven solutions for social issues in the Philippines.

The Challenge
Students often struggle with retaining information, preparing efficiently for exams, and identifying the most effective study methods for their needs. Traditional review methods can feel repetitive, unstructured, and disconnected from how students actually learn best. The challenge was to create a platform that combines modern technology with evidence-based study principles to make learning more personalized, effective, and engaging, while addressing real-world educational challenges through an AI-driven solution.
The Solution
SmartStudy was developed as an innovative learning platform that enhances the study experience through AI-powered features and research-backed strategies. By integrating adaptive flashcards, AI-generated practice exams, and practical study guidance, the platform helps students study with more structure and confidence. Built as part of AppCon 2024 by Team Hackademics representing STI College Ortigas-Cainta, the project stood out among 178 teams nationwide and earned a place in the Top 20. Development ran from November 2024 to April 2025, with the final awarding ceremony held at Adamson University Theatre on June 28, 2025. As Lead Developer, I helped drive the platform’s development and ensured the product delivered a clear, engaging, and user-friendly learning experience.
